Vacant Posts of Sub-Inspector (Equivalent to JCO/BS-14) 2025

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has recently announced vacant posts of Sub-Inspector (BS-14)—equivalent to the Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) rank—for various positions across Pakistan's Customs Department. These vacancies, advertised on a contract basis, reflect the government's strategy to infuse technical competence and youthful energy into the enforcement apparatus.

The recruitment drive includes over 148 positions, with postings in key locations such as Quetta, Gaddani, and field formations nation wide.

Departments & Vacancies Breakdown

According to the official job announcement:

• Quetta Enforcement Customs Collectorate: 25 posts (Merit: 21, Women: 3, Minority: 1)

• Gaddani Enforcement Collectorate: 15 posts (Merit: 12, Women: 2, Minority: 1)

• Indus Collectorate (all Pakistan): 108 posts (Quota across provinces and groups) 

Eligibility & Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

• A 2nd Class or Grade "C" Bachelor's degree in Economics, Commerce, Statistics, Accounting, Computer Science, Law, Chemistry, Physics, Pharmacy—or a B.Sc. Engineering degree from an HEC-recognized institution. 

Ex-Military Eligibility:

• Individuals retired from the Pakistan Armed Forces at JCO rank are eligible under Section 226 of the Customs Act, 1969.

Physical Standards & Testing

Male Candidates:

• Height: At least 5'6"

• Chest: 32"–33.5"

Female Candidates:

• Height and other physical standards apply (though chest measurement isn't required)

Testing Process:

• Applicants will undergo physical screening including tests for running, push-ups, chin-ups, etc.

Age Limits & Relaxation

General age range: 18–25 years, with 5 years general relaxation, bringing the maximum limit to 30 years

Additional relaxations:

• 3 years for Scheduled Castes, Buddhists, Tribal Areas, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan.

• 15 years (or service years) for retired Armed Forces personnel.

• 5 years for widows or children of deceased civil servants.

• 3 years for Sindh (Rural) and Balochistan applicants for BS-15 and below

Quota & Merit Distribution

The recruitment strictly follows quotas:

• Women: 10%

• Minorities: 5%

• Regional representation per posting as mentioned above
