High Court Direct Remove Name of Shireen Mazari's From Passport Control List
Islamabad High Court Order
Islamabad, Dunya News – In a significant ruling on Friday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) mandated the removal of former PTI leader Shireen Mazari’s name from the Passport Control List (PCL).
The court deemed the inclusion of her name in the list as both unjust and unlawful.
IHC Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangir, while announcing the reserved judgment, ordered the Director General (DG) of immigration to promptly eliminate Mazari’s name from the PCL.
The court further instructed the DG immigration to submit a comprehensive report on this matter within a week, with the report to be presented to the Deputy Registrar of the High Court.

Shireen Mazari’s name had been added to the PCL based on recommendations from the Islamabad police.
The court’s decision to remove her from the list follows a petition filed by Mazari on November 22, wherein she sought the removal of her name from the Passport Control List.
During the proceedings, Additional Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General represented the federal government, while Advocate Tahir Kazim presented the police department.
Islamabad High Court :In response to queries about the inclusion of Mazari’s name in the PCL, the police argued that there were seven cases registered against the former minister.
They asserted that individuals facing financial difficulties typically do not travel abroad, emphasizing Mazari’s extensive travel history.
Justice Jahangiri dismissed the argument that a lengthy travel history or multiple legal cases could justify placing someone on the PCL, stating that such factors were not valid reasons.
Subsequently, after hearing the arguments, Justice Jahangiri reserved his ruling on Mazari’s plea, culminating in the recent directive to remove her name from the Passport Control List.
